Privacy
Short version: no cookies, no accounts, no tracking across sites, and the tuner’s microphone audio never leaves your device.
What the tools keep, and where
Your metronome settings, tuner settings and set lists are saved in your browser’s local storage on your device so they’re there next time. They are never sent to garage.fm or anyone else. To delete them, clear this site’s data in your browser settings, or use Delete set in the set list builder.
The microphone
The tuner asks for microphone access only when you press Start listening. The sound is analysed inside the page to find the pitch. It isn’t recorded, stored or uploaded. The microphone is released when you press stop or switch away from the tab. Your browser shows when the microphone is in use.
Hosting and visit statistics
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. As with any website, Cloudflare receives your IP address and browser details when it delivers a page, and uses them to serve the site and protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
garage.fm uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t fingerprint your device and doesn’t follow you across other sites. It gives us totals such as page views and the countries visits come from.
If you contact us
The suggestion form doesn’t send anything itself. It opens your own email app. If you send the email, we receive your message, the address you sent it from and any name you included. We use them only to read and answer your message and to improve the site. We don’t sell or share them, and we’ll delete them if you ask.
Your rights
Because the tools keep your data on your own device, we hold nothing about you unless you email us. If you have emailed us, you can ask what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it, using the address in the footer. If you’re in the UK or the EU you can also complain to your data protection authority; in the UK that’s the Information Commissioner’s Office.
We handle emails you send on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering them and improving the site.

Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it.
